There is a new head coach heading to Fort St. John.

Fivestar Fight League Featherweight Champion Shawn Albrecht will take over as the head coach at Fivestar Athletics in January.

“I’m really excited to get up there after my fight in January. It’s like I’m moving from one family to another,” said Albrecht. “Fivestar has always been like a second home for me and I’m excited to join such an awesome family in Fort St. John.”

Albrecht has been coaching for over 12-years, with an extensive Muay Thai background and a black belt in BJJ. Shawn has been instrumental in the development of the West Coast Martial Arts MMA & BJJ team over the past 6 years producing numerous champions in and around the Vancouver area and will look to continue that work here in Fort St. John while representing WCMA here at Fivestar.

“With my coaching experience along with all the other great coaches on staff and guys like Mitch Clarke (UFC) coming up and helping out, Fivestar is definitely going to be the place to train MMA, BJJ, & Kickboxing in Northern BC & The Peace Region.”

Albrecht (10-6) last fought on April 25 when he defeated Zach Gait via first round triangle at Fivestar Fight League 11 in Fort St. John.
